ENG3U M1 A2 - When Strangers Come To Your Town

Bullying happens everywhere; at school, home, and especially the internet. I have been a victim of bullying many times throughout my life, but there was an incident this past year where I ended up breaking down.  There were multiple bullies within this situation, which made it worse for me. A pack of girls in my class that have been together for 10 years were the most awful girls I have known. They never had the courage to say anything to my face, which was sad. They would just use social media such as twitter, Facebook etc to carry out their torment as well as excluding me in school situations. What pushed me over the edge this one day were these snarky comments posted on the internet, as well as said behind my back. They commented on my hair, clothes, my actions, anything to get under my skin. I was strong for years and put up with them for such a long time, but that day was my breaking point, I couldn't deal with it anymore. I wasn't happy, I truly felt so alone at school. At the time when I found out what they had said about me, I broke down. I felt stuck and had no idea what to do anymore. I didn't go to my classes the rest of the day because of these girls, which is awful and disgusting. Sadly, the incident was not resolved, even after the teacher and principal became involved. They said the classic speech; “Don’t let them get to you, just ignore them. They’re just jealous and feel the need to bully you”. I was sick and tired of hearing that broken record over and over again, and I decided I couldn't be at that school anymore. Nobody should ever be scared to go to school knowing their going to be bullied by the same people each day. I am now at a different school and so far, I believe I made an amazing decision for myself. Why people do it, ill never know. The people who are bullies are truly worthless and rotten human beings.
